How does Aquaritin work:

Aquaritin promotes the growth of Diatoms.  Diatoms are phytoplankton that convert Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen (N) and Phosphorus (P) into dissolved oxygen and oxygen rich organic compounds.  This results in a healthy ecosystem that supports a thriving fish population, as fish consume phytoplankton and diatoms.   Once the N and P in the pond are consumed by the diatoms, algae cannot multiply and it naturally dies off.  Oxygen released by diatoms is used by bacteria to multiply and break down organic matter and gradually makes sludge disappear. Aquaritin also eliminates smells from any water body.

Why grow Diatoms:

Diatoms are a major group of algae, and algae are the most common type of phytoplankton that provides more than 50% of the marine food chain. The developers of Aquaritin discovered that diatom algae produce a vast amount of pure oxygen underwater by photosynthesis. Growing diatoms in large quantities is very difficult, but Aquaritin does this. Aquaritin can grow diatoms in the sea, highly saline water, fresh water, sewage water, effluent water, etc. When Aquaritin is applied to any water body, diatoms bloom and convert to live food like zooplankton, which fishes and prawns consume. In the process, N and P are taken away from other green and blue-green algae (cyanobacteria) and so these die off naturally.

Is Aquaritin dependent on temperature or pH to work:

Aquaritin works in a wide range of temperatures and pHs. Aquaritin also works in acidic or saline conditions, including sea water, and can tolerate pHs of 3 – 11. Generally Diatoms peak in growth at 14 degrees Celsius. With the addition of Aquaritin, Diatoms can peak at up to 43 degrees Celsius.

Why do I need Aquaritin:

Any water body will accumulate organic matter over time from fish waste and leaves and twigs falling into the water body. Any stormwater runoff into the water body will also contain nitrogen and phosphorus, and once temperatures increase, all of this will result in growth of algae which results in lowered dissolved oxygen levels. Aquaritin is a nutrient export system, it will enable the consumption of the organic matter, nitrogen and phosphorus and will increase the dissolved oxygen levels in the water body thus restoring the balance in the water body.

Why is Aquaritin unique?

Aquaritin contains 13 macro and micronutrients in the right percentages that optimize growth of specific types of Diatoms. In addition, the Nanotechnology behind the product ensures that the nutrients are stable in water.

Nualgi Lakes has no adverse impact on other weeds, phytoplankton, zooplankton and fish in water, it is a tool to cause the most beneficial group of phytoplankton to grow in water in a simple and economical manner.

What else does Aquaritin do?

Aquaritin can be used to remediate polluted water and eliminate odour from water bodies.

Dosage:

a. Initial Dosage for water bodies:
i. 1L Aquaritin per 15 million gallons of water once a week. Dilute Aquaritin into 100L of lake water and pour all around the edges of the lake.
Do this once a week for 4 weeks.
b. Maintenance dosage :
i. 1L Aquaritin per 15 million gallons of water once a month. Dilute Aquaritin into 100L of lake water and pour all around the edges of the lake.
c. Dosage is also dependent on amount of sunlight, organic matter, nutrient levels, amount of algae, and the use of UV, algaecides and alum type products used in the past. Please consult with Greendrop as to the proper rate for your water body.
d. If you have access to the total N and P in the lakes and are able to measure the length, breadth and depth of the lake, we can tailor a much more precise dosage for your lake.
e. Do not use concurrently with Algaecides, Ultrasonic or UV filters.
f. Aquaritin is compatible and works well with aeration and beneficial bacteria.

Why is the dosage so little?

Aquaritin is a Nanoscale product (made with Nanotechnology) as small as 1-30 nanometres. Thus the total surface area of the particles in a litre of Aquaritin will cover a far larger mass of water than if it was not Nanoscale.

Does it affect fish adversely?

In fact fish will get healthier by consuming the Diatoms and Phytoplankton as these are the food of choice of many fish and crustaceans. For Aquaculture, you can reduce the amount of fish feed provided to your fish by 25%. However if a separate pond is used to grow diatoms and copepods (with Aquaritin and Urea) then it can feed a pond 9 times bigger that contains the fish. With this process

change, the feed cost will drop by 75% and your fish will be less prone to disease as they are getting food from a natural source. The hatching rate from fish fry will also improve as newly hatched fish require Diatoms to survive.

What if there is no fish in the pond?

Most water bodies have marine life in them, even if not visible, and these will consume the phytoplankton and zooplankton. If not, over time, zooplankton dies off and bacteria in the pond will consume them.

Does it get rid of bad smelling lakes

Usually within 24 hours

Areas where Aquaritin cannot be used

Any water body that is not exposed to oxygen and light, for example septic tanks and covered drains.

Are there any precautions to using Aquaritin

Yes, shake the bottle before use and keep any remaining product in the original bottle out of direct sunlight. Once Aquaritin has been measured from the bottle and mixed with water, please apply this mixture to your water body within 24 hours.
